The Postmaster Generals Department (PMG) established a bunker containing a Transmitting Station about 4kms from the RAAF Station at Dubbo in New South Wales. It was hidden in the scrub and had about 6 transmitters. It became operational in 1943. Noel Abel was in charge of this Transmitting Station. This Transmitting Station operated 24hrs per day. There was always one person on duty over night. The Transmitting Station bunker is still there today. All of the equipment has gone. It's location and former use are not well known in the local community.
Another bunker was established in the grounds of the Dubbo PMG Depot. A number of WT WAAAF's were based in this bunker.
