US SOLDIERS BODY FOUND ON
TOWNSVILLE BEACH
WITH BULLET WOUND ON 13 OCTOBER 1942

The body of American Soldier Private Edward L. Dye (#35214228) was found at about 9 am on Tuesday 13 October 1942 on the beach in Rowe's Bay in Townsville, north Queensland.
He was initially buried in the US Cemetery in Townsville but was later disinterred and reburied at the Ipswich US Military Cemetery on 6 August 1945.
