DAMAGE TO A C-47A DAKOTA
AT TOWNSVILLE
ON 1 DECEMBER 1943

visits since 2 June 2000

On 1 December 1943, a USAAF C-47A Dakota of the 21st Troop Carrier Squadron of the 374th Troop Carrier Group, was damaged at Townsville when its landing gear failed. The aircraft was able to be salvaged.

NOTE:- Mike Stowe (Accident-Report.Com) has a C-47A Dakota #43-30752, crashing on 1 December 1943 at Townsville. Could it be the above crash? Two other C-47A collided at Townsville on that same day. Could it be one of them?
